Fran Grigsby, Founder and Managing Principal
Fran Grigsby founded Next Level International based on 25 years experience leading technology companies through critical transitions. Next Level provides business development and interim executive services for companies worldwide. Clients have included One Communications, Ipanema Technologies and IBM.
Ms. Grigsby has worked with companies at all growth stages, and is known for her combination of executive perspective and operational skills. She was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Giganet, a clustering company acquired by Emulex. She joined Giganet as its fourth employee and played a leadership role in venture financing, market launch and corporate alliances.
As Vice President of Enterprise Networks at Motorola, Ms. Grigsby led backbone switching and networking businesses. She also held leadership positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, where she had global responsibility for award-winning networking businesses, and managed storage, service and operations groups.
Ms. Grigsby’s education includes MBA and BA degrees from Vanderbilt University and an Executive Certificate at INSEAD Graduate School of Management in France. She serves on the Boards of Directors of the Massachusetts Network Communications Council and Lowell Telecommunications Corporation; and Advisory Committees for Mass High Tech’s Women to Watch and Northeastern University’s Technology Commercialization program.
Harvard Professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter featured Grigsby as an innovative leader in her bestseller “The Change Masters” and the videotape series “Management Speaks”. She writes and speaks frequently on strategy and marketing topics.
